The process of mcdonaldization is leading to the creation of more and more mcjobs. The service sector especially at its lower end is producing an enormous number of jobs, most of them requiring little or no skill. Large numbers of middle class jobs are also being turned into mcjobs. Mcjobs are characterized by 5 main points: The jobs tend to involve a series of simple tasks. The time taken for each act to be completed is carefully calculated and the emphasis on the quantity of time a task should take to complete usually affects its quality. The work is predictable and everything the worker does is scripted.
