Unemployment: an individual aged 15 or older who: does not currently have a paid job. 2: has been actively looking for a job during the past four weeks. People who have given up looking for work aren"t considered unemployed. Labour force = employed workers + unemployed workers. Ur is a good indicator of how easy it is to find a job (labour market conditions) Ur tends to rise during periods of recession and fall during periods of expansion. Jobless recovery (growth recession): periods in which read gdp is positive, but the unemployment rate is not falling. Unemployed workers tend to participate in job search (time spent looking for employment that suits their preferences and skills).
