Resources that people possess literacy, education, urbanity, and financial assets. Racial and ethnic inequality is more deeply rooted in social structure than in biology and culture. Symbolic interactionist emphasize the development of racial and ethnic labels, and ethnic and racial identities is typically a process of negotiation.
