PR 660 Chapter 4: Measures of Relationship Quality
Document Summary
Offline environment research has been put into five key concepts that are used to judge organizational-relationship quality. This is a desire that lasts and is shown by maintaining a valued relationship with someone or something else. Commitment is most commonly shown through exchanging intangible or tangible items. Commitment is also shown by the readiness of someone or something and willingness to talk. There is, however, a variability in their ability to do so. This involves parties deciding amongst themselves who sets the goals in the relationship, who specifies how interactions will happen, and who exercises the power to influence the other person or thing/party involved. This means that one party, which is normally the organization, exercises power over how talking with and exchanging things with the public will happen. This arrangement might be tactically accepted by people in the public.
