Platonic dialogue that is set in the last hours of socrates" life, before being executed. Plato uses this painting to expose his ideas of maturity, the theory of ideas, the theory of reminiscence and the theory of metempsychosis, as elements of a discussion about the immortality of the soul. Psychology, morality and metaphysics: wise work in which they have merged with a deep purpose three very different objects: narration, discussion and myth. Plato has come to build his own philosophical system, which is based on the so-called "theory of ideas", with an ethic and a policy subordinated to an idealistic metaphysical conception of the universe and human destiny. Gone are the socratic discussions with the great and small sophists, the trip to sicily, with its bitter experience, and the academy is already founded. The figure of master socrates is already a spokesman for plato"s thoughts and thesis.
