Document Summary

Intro to anthro, love this class already8/21/2012 4:32:00 pm. Cultural relativism- each culture needs to be considered in it"s own terms! A little bit of genocentrism is necessary, be"d miserable without a little because we need to feel at home w/i our own culture. It"s like really trivial, ie skin color, or stars, or blood type. We are all so much more alike then we are different. Humans are cultural animals, human nature is not instinctive but biocultural- what makes us unique. Our learned culture overlays our biology and teaches us how to act like whatever culture we are born into and not animals. Culture- a complex symbolic system of communication that all human beings share. Lsu culture is divided into subcultures that make up the components but every human being has the capacity for culture. The only human being that would have the capeability is someone who has been kept in complete isolation.
