I am writing to request volunteers for our next community playground build, which will be held at bernard terrace elementary school on friday, january 30 and saturday, january 31, 2015. The address of the school is 241 edison street, baton rouge, la 70806. 30th completed through collaboration between the community and the lsu community. Biological engineering college students worked with bernard terrace elementary students and faculty to develop playground design concepts for the school in spring 2012. Numerous community partners are working together to make this new playground happen, including capital one (the major financial donor for the project), ebr schools, bernard terrace, aramark, mid city. Redevelopment alliance, university presbyterian church, the milton womack foundation, and the lsu. We will be installing a large composite structure for pre-kindergarten students that features two slides (including a racing slide), a rock wall, a climber, and other activities.
