Organisms- take energy in and utilize it, organized. The simplest form of an organism is a cell. Every cell is separated by a cell membrane. This can be obtained through photosynthesis or acquiring. Organisms sense and responds to internal and external stimuli. Sensory orgnas in animals can detect and respond to external stimuli such as light, sound, and chemicals. Internal stimuli in animals are precieved by stretch, temperature, pain, chem receptors. Plants and animals grow by producing more cells. Bacteria grows by enlarging cells (divide to reproduce) Diving in half, producing seeds, bearing live young, laying eggs. Change in dna within a population occur over generations, which may result in evolution. Theory of evolution explains how life on earth has diversified. Only 5% difference between human and chimpanzee dna. Yeast and bacteria have many of the same genes as humans do. Atleast 65 human genes can be substituted for the same yeast gene.
