Transport proteins- regulate the movement of molecules through the plasma membrane; can be broken down into two categories: channel and carrier to open up on the inside of the cell to let it through the membrane. Concentration- the ratio of solute to solvent in a solution. Gradient- the physical difference in concentration, temperature, pressure, charge, etc. between two adjoining regions. Diffusion- movement of solute from areas of high concentration to low concentration.
