Cost of 1 liter of wine in england? for every 4 wine, we give up 10 cloth mathematically divide by 4 (10/4) Cost in portugal of producing 1 liter of wine? give up 12/8 cloth opportunity cost is the reciprocal cost of 1 cloth is 4/10 liters of wine. Portugal has the comparative advantage in producing wine. England has the comparative advantage in producing cloth. England produces cloth more cheaply, portugal produces wine more cheaply. Both countries made better by reducing their costs to a minimum. Both countries use the same worker/hours for the same products.
