The argument of weather or not states should continue to fund planned parenthood, and other family planning organizations, has been debated for years. This argument, mainly between conservative and liberal values, is one of the most controversial issues that divides american society today. Planned parenthood, and institutions alike, provide affordable and safe healthcare for women who are not be able to afford it otherwise, along with women who may not have the insurance to cover a usual doctor visit. Planned parenthood provides women with a variety of healthcare services including std and cancer screenings, the access to a variety of different contraceptive methods, and also provide abortions. If funding for planned parenthood were to get cut it would end millions of women"s means of healthcare, as well as the access to healthy and safe abortions. The main argument is that if funding for these organizations were to be cut the government would be legislating women"s reproductive rights.
