I was seven years old competing for my swim team at a meet. I have always been able to swim very well, and so i was one of the best swimmers in my age group. I was swimming one of the last races of the day, and was feeling very confident about the race. When the buzzer sounded i took off diving into the pool. I quickly grabbed the lead in the race, and never relinquished it. I exited the pool feeling victorious and immediately began to celebrate. I ran to my parents to hug them when a meet official walked over to us. He began to tell us that i moved on the diving block just before the buzzer sounded which meant i had been disqualified. I spent most of my summer working at an auto body shop to make some money before going off to college.
