Refraction- the bending of light as it travels through mediums (rainbows) Diffuse radiation: travels in all directions= no shadows. Albedo- reflective quality of the surface- represented as a % of reflection. Dark objects have a low albedo= dark objects absorbed. Light objects have a high albedo= insulations is reflected. Ex: albedo of 80% = 80% off the insulation is reflected away. Some long wave radiation get absorbed in cloud/ some goes back to space/ some goes to earth (cloud greenhouse) Some comes as direct radiation and some comes from diffuse radiation. The rest is lost due to reflection/ scattering/ absorption/ albedo.
