Document Summary
Same as traveling around the earth"s equator 3,750 times. Hydrogen atoms forced together; pairs of hydrogen nuclei are fused forming helium; energy is. We are closest to the sun on january 3 at the perihelion and furthest away on july 4th ampherhelion. Sun constantly emitting electrical charged particles that move outward. Charged particles first interact with the magnetosphere= earth"s magnetic field generated by dyamo- like motions within out planet. Magnetosphere deflects solar wind to the poles so only portion get through. We see the effect through auroras- aurora borealis in nh and aurora australis in the sh. Can affect radio broadcasts, satellite transmissions, electrical systems. Our eyes see wavelengths in the visible light portion of the spectrum. This is why we see things in different colors. A wavelength is the distance between corresponding points on two successive waves. The number of waves that pass a fixed point in 1 second is the frequency.
