Wells points out that a lot of the relations between white women and black men is consensual radical idea: white women are trying to preserve their place in society. She is telling the truth and justifies it using facts such as white newspaper article which are considered a credible source. Suggested that rape cases should at least go through the justice system rather than have this vigilante system. Points of that whites think lynching is necessary to keep blacks under control. Tells african americans to get guns and stop being scared. Also tells blacks to educate themselves about the truth of lynching. Tells them to boycott because of the amount of control they have over the economy. Wells challenged the white dominant idealology on race, gender and sexuality: redefining rape, hypocrisy of the south, connection between the lynching of black men and the rape of black women to keep the race oppressed.
