Children are very conservative, they like the same thing to happen everyday. Myth makers made myths in an effort to understand the world they occupied greek myths apparently around 1200 bc for reasons nobody knows ancient greeks began to develop explanation for things going on. They did not believe they were making up stories. Stories don"t tell the truth but they illustrate the truth about human nature. The function of myths is to make some sense of human experience. 4 theories by scholars: mueller-m (two dots over u)ller. He concluded that all myths are about nature. The natural environment is what most primitive people had experience with: jung. Fascinated that same kinds of myth turn up in all cultures. He came up with collective unconscious - a group of ideas that all humans are born with and have in their mind. Myths help people express these ideas: levi-strauss.
