Document Summary

Subliminal stimuli can act upon the unconscious mind and influence behavior. How are they different: habituation- the tendency of the brain to stop attending to constant, unchanging information, example living by a highway and forgetting the. Constant noise: sensory adaptation- the tendency of sensory receptor cells to become less responsive to a stimulus that is unchanging, microsaccades- constant movement of the eyes. Eyes: what are the properties of light, eyes contain the sense receptors for sight. The energy these receptors respond to is light: light- contains the properties of both waves and particles, three aspects to our perception of light, brightness, color, saturation, brightness, color, saturation. Brightness- is determined by the amplitude of the wave- how high or how low the wave actually is. The higher the wave the brighter the light will be. Light enters the eye through the cornea and pupil. The iris controls the size of the pupil.
