Document Summary

Today we"re going to talk about some distinctions that people in the social sciences make about fundamental assumptions concerning societies based on their tools and technology. ; in particular, the difference between societies with a lower division of labor and a high division of labor. These ideas probably started to be generated during the age of. European expiration back in the 1500s when european explorers went out and discovered new continents, encountering different people of different cultures who lead much different lives and appeared much different than those european explorers. These ideas had been elaborated on bit-by-bit and piece-by-piece by one or even a handful of different social scientist. We will start with what we considered to be the most primitive societies. And i"m using the word primitive only as a reference only to early societies, tools and technologies and not as a reference to those peoples intellect, their morals for anything like that.
