Once theatre artists read the play for these contexts clues, they makes the production decisions: An actor can give centuries old texts new life. The plot of a play is how the events are arranged. The arrangement of the events can tell us how to play. Climatic structure point of attack- potentially apposing forces are in balance. Inciting incident- (a task, challenge, or problem is revealed) Rising action- the hero/heroine must accomplish or overcome the task challenge. Point of attack/equilibrium-potentially opposing forces are in balance. Inciting incident- and event disrupts the status quote. Rising action-the event sets off a train of events. Intervention/ climax- something or someone intervenes to reestablished order. Focuses on a variety of different characters, all weighted equally, that can change from scene to scene (soap oprahs)
