The directing process- structural analysis: theme, characters, langauge, environment, plot. Beats- every time you have a mini- scene in these french scenes/ shift in character directions. The directing processes - concept to casting: production concept. The primary metaphor, symbole, concept that is essential to the production of this play. Production meetings serve to bring the production team a central point in the collaborative process. The director in rehearsal- focus: blocking rehearsal, shared focus, stealing focus or upstaging, profile, stage areas. Where the actors are going to stand, where they are going to leave / enter/ ect. The director collaborates with others: assistant dirctor, stage manager, movement coaches. Fight director: vocal or dialect coach, music director, choreographer. Attempt to translate the way the play write intended it to be. Creates "concept productions" based on their unique ideas or interpretations of a play script: contemporary trends/ ensemble.
