He comes back personality unchanged but looking much older and very put together. Spends all the money fyodor gives him as a cook on clothes, pomade, perfume. Once fyodor dropped 3000 notes as he stumbled in the house from being drunk and smerdyakov picked them up and put them on the table for him in the morning.
