Document Summary

One of the principal features of american politics is the series of complex interconnections between their otherwise separate and distinct parts. For starters, understanding how american political parties work without knowing the constitution, how the president leads without knowing congress, or how interest groups control government without knowing the courts and bureaucracies is difficult. Those links are often clear, often subtle, but always important. This includes the" architecture" of u. s. politics: the social base, governing bodies and intermediaries that link society and government together. The continuing influence of these three variables produces laws and public policies (both domestic and foreign) that directly and indirectly impact. Americans " daily lives and those of millions outside of america. With these three dimensions in mind in the pages below, connections between various aspects of american politics should become evident. America"s social base: the" social base" applies to the types of culture that exist within society, and their key differences and distinctions.
