In every profession, there is a code of ethics that must be followed. In the workplace, people are faced with making ethical decisions on a daily basis. Ethics can be defined as rules of conduct recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group ( ethics ). In other words, ethics are a set of principles of right conduct and moral values. Ethics make a person consider whether something is right or wrong. There are many ethical decisions one might face when working as a funeral director. Funeral directors are trained to deal with the deceased, as well as their grieving families. It is important that the funeral director gets consent from the family for all decisions, including financial arrangements and preparation of the body for burial. Funerals can be very expensive, and it is important for funeral directors to maintain strong ethical morals when arranging a funeral.
