Us has a long history of ngos organizing to: advocate for public health causes, delivering public health services, providing funding to support public health efforts. Recently, goals have been expanded on a global level. There are many ngos in which: support research, provide public health services and education, develop recommendations based upon their research. Public health recommendations are what are presented to politicians in order to encourage action on a particular health issue. Ngos focus on particular individuals or on particular diseases: they have leverage when it comes to advocating for particular public health interventions. Impact on policies regarding confidentiality, funding, and public education.
