Document Summary

Problem: you"ll need to find 10 different ways to measure the height of the beech tree outside. The first way to measure this tree is a crane. One can theoretically (as with all of these solutions) get a large crane and take a measurement of parts of the tree and compile them together. You can measure the height of the lamp post right by the tree and then take a scientific guess on how many lamp posts will equal the height of the tree. I would guess about three lampposts and maybe a little left over. One can measure the height of the building behind the tree, and then take a measurement of the remaining portion left. Take a pencil and move several meters away from the tree. Outstretch your arm and hold the pencil so that you can measure the height of the tree on the pencil with your thumb.
