As a result, all nine us attorneys eventually complied and turned in their resignations as instructed without public comment. This dynamic all changed in january of 2007 when attorney general gonzales testified before the senate judiciary committee and faced questioning about growing rumors that us. She continued to state that there is a pleasure aspect to it, but the practice of the past was for attorneys to remain in their position until a replacement was confirmed.
