Hippocratic oath: some points from the classical version of the oath I will apply dietetic measures for the benefit of the sick according to my ability and judgment; i will keep them from harm and injustice. I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will i make a suggestion to this effect. I solemnly pledge myself before god and in the presence of this assembly, to pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithfully. I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug.
