Hinge joint between trochlear notch ulna and trochlea of humerus. Not in ant-post plane and so carrying angle in extension /supination formed semi lunar notch ulna prevents lateral movement in the joint. Hor held strongly in radial notch by annular ligament. All surrounded by loose capsule: made up of 4 major ligaments. Anterior oblique band anterior medial epicondyle to coronoid process. Posterior band posterior medial epicondyle to coracoid process. Often referred to as medial collateral ligament. Strengthens the side of the wall of the joint capsule of the elbow. Composed of a fibrous band extending between the lateral epicondyle of the humerus (upper arm bone) and the annular ligament of the radius. Attached to the margin of the trochlear notch of the ulna. Encircles the head of the radius, functioning to keep the head in contact with the radial notch of the ulna. Reinforces the inferior part of the capsule of the elbow joint.
