Ossification: describe the changes seen in lower limb alignment in infants. Conditions: fractures, clubfoot (congenital talipes equino-varus, postural foot/hand deformities, developmental dysplasia of the hip, torticollis/deformational plagiocephaly, obstetrical nerve palsies, other conditions. Commonly occur during delivery e. g. shoulder dystocia. Healed within 2 weeks: outline musculoskeletal conditions seen in infancy, outline some current physiotherapy intervention strategies for infants with musculoskeletal conditions. Infant rom>adult rom: talipes or pes = foot, equinus = plantar flexion, varus = turns in (medially, valgus = turns out (laterally, pes planus = flat feet, pes cavus = high arched foot. A conservative method of casting and splinting, with minimal surgery is now seen as the gold standard in the treatment of clubfoot.
