PHTY209 Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Tuberosity Of The Tibia, Tendinopathy, Quadriceps Femoris Muscle
Document Summary
Prominence/height of tibial tuberosity compared to other side. Medial/lateral knee joint line tenderness reduced with knee flexion. Pain +/- click reproduced over the joint line. Reduction of pain when passive pf glide is applied. Drop of pelvis on nwb side when patient: faber test, fadir test, anterior labral (mccarthy) test, squeeze test (adductor pathology, external de-rotation test (gluteal tendinopathy, modified ober"s test (itb and tfl extensibility) stands on affected leg. Test leg"s knee remains above the opposite straight leg. Test: anterior draw test (tests integrity of atfl, talar tilt test (calcaneofibular ligament test, medial collateral ligament stress test (deltoid ligament, calcaneocuboid ligament stress test (bifurcate ligament, external rotation stress test (inferior tibiofibular syndesmosis) Dimple or suction over anterior joint line/atfl. Reduction of pain or increase of df rom when tibiofibular syndesmosis: thompson"s test (achilles integrity test, peroneal subluxation test squeeze is added. Instability, pain: metatarsal squeeze test, plantar fascia length malleolus.
