How to choose a topic: read essay prompts/questions, identify thematic interests, preliminary search to find ethnographic content, read sources and take notes, identify argument, identify useful course readings, draft outline, read criteria to ensure all points are addressed. Note: remember to cite at least 6 sources, only 3 of which may come from the course reader. Also the course guide contains all pertinent information for this assignment, including submission details, essay topics and rubric. Make sure the 2nd paragraph leads into your 3rd and. 4th: add conclusion, tie it together, with no verbatim repetition. Consider critique, suggestion, observation etc: avoid repition! Note: the best essays are the ones which are quick and easy to read and very simply make sense.
