Lecture 2- scalars, vectors, physical quantities
Scalars
Something that has magnitude 
Any quantitative
E.g. distance, speed, time, weather forecast (temperature)
Vectors
Something that has magnitude and direction- two qualities that define a vector
E.g. displacement, velocity, acceleration, fluid flow rate, light propagation
Does not point at something points on a direction 
Magnitude represented by length of arrow
Magnitude (vector length) can be calculated using Pythagoras 
Angles can be found using Pythagoras
A vector multiplied by a number (a scalar), it’s magnitude multiplied by that
number
If you multiply by a negative number you change its direction as well 
3D vectors
