Document Summary

Termination been laid down the surface should be prismatic. Secretory stage is terminated once the full thickness of the enamel matrix has. Tp retracts (no longer needed) and a thin layer of aprismatic enamel is formed at. This layer formed by the cell after disappearance of tp. This happens across full thickness of enamel. Tp means immature enamel and enamel can be seen as a stained area. To view enamel in stained sections it must be cut with a microtome. To stain something it must be demineralised because you can"t cut thin sections with a microtome because it is too hard. Demineralise mature enamel, it is lost and appears as a space. If you see enamel as a space in histological stained sections mature because in process of demineralisation all enamel has been lost. If enamel is still there and accepts staining immature. Initially deposited enamel is high in protein and water and low in minerals.
