early 90’s internet became commercialised
WEB 1.0 “ A Huge library, maybe the biggest?” consisted of: emails, forums and web pages.
WEB 2.0 “A promotional idea” – process internet economics, technology read/write web,
people, digital narratives.
web 2.0- popular sophisticated tool-set. essentially an increasing range of software that
supports a variety of technologies.
WOC- WISDOM OF THE CROWDS/COMMUNITY- The results of all individuals averaged out,
it will almost always be close to perfect. – smarter, sharper, more precise every time we
search something on google.
web 1= producer to consumer
web 2 = consumer to producer
we 3 = semantic web/ promotional idea/useful.

XML- EXTENSIVE MARKUP LEAGUE.
HTML- WHAT THINGS LOOK LIKE.
SEMANTIC WEB= “the web with meaning.” going forward means things are becoming more
useful.
