set!to!avoid!confusion!and!prevent!misbehaviour.!!
3. The!activities!need!to!be!open-ended!and!authentic,!with!time!taken!into!
consideration.!

What$management$issues$would$you$need$to$consider$around$using$learning$centres.$$
Instructions!are!clear!and!demonstrations!are!modelled!by!the!teacher.!Students!are!
grouped!according!to!level!and!have!had!the!opportunity!to!practice!the!rotational!system!
and!become!comfortable!with!quick,!smooth!transitions!between!activities.!Resources!may!
need!to!be!shared!across!classrooms!to!allow!students!to!experience!a!range!of!activities!
and!become!familiar!with!different!types!of!materials.!!

The children read familiar or easy level books that they can read without assistance. The children are supported independently read a text at their instructional level. The children play games or do activities that consolidate their learning of taught concepts and strategies. The activities conducted in these groups allow children to practice and improve their fluency, comprehension, problem solving and co-operation skills, as well as the ability to work independently from the teacher.
