Transnational Issues
• Transnational
o The movement of objects or ideas across state borders when one or both parties to the
transaction are not states or agents of a state
• May apply to events, ideas, individuals, businesses, non-government
organisations, criminal/terrorist networks, etc.
o Associated first with 'complex interdependence' in the 1970s
o Also associated with the globalisation process from the 1980s to present
