In assessing new opportunities we need to consider organisational fit. Problem identification: factors to consider when reviewing a systeem. Legal: do the systems comply with laws, rules and regulations. Understand what the current system does and how it operates. Methods to gain an understanding of the system: Find the technology to allow implementation of logical design. Imperative that designers and users concur on the design. Once design is signed off no further design changes should be permitted. Once the design has been approved the organisation must determine where it will source required hardware and software. Involves getting the system up and running within the organisation.
