Divergence from commonly accepted ways of behaving. Romanticisation of madness, not bound by social convention, artists. Psychosis and schizophrenia are not romantic conditions. Conditions that produce signi cant suffering and impairment. Psychosis is not a disorder (except for psychosis nos-not otherwise speci ed) rather something experience in course of psychotic based disorders (such as schizophrenia) Can have psychotic episode that never progresses to schizophrenia. Loss of contact with reality (problematic phrase) Delusion= gross distortions in processing of reality. Erotomanic type: some other person (often authoritative, famous, powerful) is secretly in love with you and wants to make contact but cant (stalkers, try make contact) Grandiose type: in ated worth, power, knowledge, identity (thinking they"re jesus or president, think the real version is a fake) Jealous type: acute developed delusions that partner are unfaithful to you (excessive checking, following people, collecting evidence) Persecutory type: you"re being molested, persecuted or punished in some way, fantasies of monitoring, spying to control you.
