Male pheromones may increase sexual attractiveness of men to women: the mhc and mate choice: The major histocompatibility complex (mhc) is composed of a large number of highly variable genes. The main function is to regulate immune responses: mating systems in the great apes: Cooperation between males to defend a large area containing many females. Females in estrus (a reoccurring period of sexualism) have multiple partners = selection for large testis size. Chimpanzees: mating systems in humans, extended breeding season: no limited breeding season, primate females limit sexual activity to periods of ovulation.
