EDUC267 Lecture 21: EDUC 267 - Lecture 21
Document Summary
Even after accepting the feasibility of data collection procedures in the classroom, many teachers see little value in it. Beyond recording grades on tests, most teachers have traditionally kept very few records of their students" academic and social behaviours. Recording behaviour is worthwhile: accurate and relevant data, keeping track of students behaviours, keeping track of your now actions re-discipline, frequencies & patterns, possibilities for explaining behaviour, enabling teachers to make decisions. The no. of times a student engages in certain behaviour. The frequency of behaviour as ratio with given time. How long a student engages in a behaviour. The amount of time between teacher instruction and student action. What is observed should explain the bulk of behaviour. What is observed should be reliable and valid representation. What is observed can be used to predict what students are likely to do. What is observed can be explained simply, in relation to the data.
