ANAT30008 Lecture Notes - Lecture 13: Mesentery, Falciform Ligament, Gastrosplenic Ligament
Document Summary
3. duodenum, pancreas, ascending colon and descending colon. Intraperitoneal viscera (unpaired) = liver, stomach, spleen, gall bladder, jejunum, ileum, caecum, appendix, transverse colon and sigmoid colon. Greater omentum: gastrocolic ligament connects distal part of greater curvature back to itself by forming a long, sleeve anterior to transverse colon (coloured diagram doesn"t show this), Mesentery of the small intestine the mesentery starts at. Dj exure passes aorta/ivc, then pass right ureter, then attaches to iliocaecal junction (oblique axis) Mesentery of large intestine transverse colon = transverse mesocolon, sigmoid colon = sigmoid mesocolon. Two sacs within abdomen = greater and lesser (omental bursa; space behind lesser omentum) Mental bursa allows for stomach to expand agains posterior abdominal wall. Hepatoduodenal ligament has a free right edge, space behind signi es where you can enter the omental bursa from the greater sac mental (epiploic) foramen.
