The phenotypic expression of the trait is in uenced by the sex of the individual. Gene is found on an autosome but it is in uenced by their gender. Expression is less extreme in females but still can occur. B1 us dominant in males and recessive in females. Phenotype limited to one sex but can be passed to o spring by either sex. Dad can pass trait to any child but only his son will show it, not his daughter. However the daughter can pass it on to her children. Line through symbol means that person is deceased. If a daughter is a ected her father must be a ected. More males a ected than females in large pedigrees. No father to son transmission (they give y chromosome) Once it is out of a pedigree, it cannot come back without mutation. A father that is a ected by a dominant trait cannot have any una ected daughters.
