Developmental changes are products of a complex interplay between nature and nurture. Conceptualizes the environment as a set of nested structures, each inside another. Each structure emphasizes a diff level of influence. Environmental forces at each level vary in effect on each child. Complex interconnectedness among levels, which are called systems.
