Numbers are the basis of civilisation: almost everything around us is possible only because we have the ability to represent and manipulate numbers dates, times, prices etc. Technological advancement depends on numbers science and technology. It is difficult to separate numbers from language: sophisticated use of numbers may depend on the development of language. Perhaps language just generally enriches learning: neuropsychological evidence. Language and number deficits occur separately: animal studies. Animals have number ability without or with little language.
