Linked to socially constructed notions of masculinity and femininity. It"s our understanding of gender differences that lead us to find biological distinctions. Socialization and learning of roles is the key in distinction. All sociologists agree that gender is socially constructed. Most of our brains are actually in the middle, mix of characteristics from female or male, very rare differences. Scientists construct dimorphism where there is continuity, the idea that there are two gender that leads us to look for biological differences. We can find a variety of differences if we are using these markers.
