Damage from cyclone (heta in jan 2004) Damage to reefs (+1997, el nimo bleaching) 90% houses damaged, 32 houses that were 25m above sea-level. Destruction of national hospital, library and museum. Cost of the damaged costed for three times their gdp. A month of having no rainfall affects the food plants. Their main staple is tar, but they are sensitive to soil moisture deficits.
