What is legal and what is illegal in a particular part of the world. It"s important to remember that what is legal is not necessarily moral. Some unethical practises were once legal in australia (e. g. slavery, murder of aboriginal people, marital rape); however, there are important laws against unethical practises (e. g. murder, initiating violence). The ideal role of the law is to enforce justice. Enforcing justice means giving people what they deserve. What people deserve is based on what is right and wrong .
