What are the aims of the cjs: overall aim of cjs is the prevention of certain kinds of behavior that society regards as either harmful or potentially harmful. State functions to preserve, maintain and extend the powers of the dominant groups in society. Why should behavior be criminalized: morally wrong. Immoral behavior erodes the social fabric of society, and consequently destabilizes society.
