Assessment 2+3
• Read assessment 3 first
• Research a topic
• Will be talking about audience, identity, moral panic, mobility, location in the
remaining weeks
• Assessment 3: 5 scholarly articles published on or after 2012, analyse them
Literature review
• Research existing scholarly literature, what has already been published
• Research your ideas before you write about them
• Look at many articles as possible (Scholarly articles! We aret iterested i logs,
book, newspapers)
• Types of publications
- Journals: usually 5000 words, specific sections, peer reviewed scholarly articles, the
output of scholars in a specific discipline
- Edited books: Collection of articles
• ‘eet researh: Pulished o or after , releat to the topis disussed i
lectures and tutes
• Should be from the discipline of media studies
• Explore connections between media and everyday life
• Literature review Goal: Identify what is known about a topic, can show what they are
about to report on and how it fits into a larger topic
• Testing knowledge of the articles you are locating, ability to relate relevant
published literature to the course
