Document Summary

Definition of literacy: literacy is the ability to read and use written information and to write appropriately, in a range of contexts. The purpose of this assignment is for students to develop a forward planning document for the teaching of a specific genre of writing appropriate to the year level chosen. This planning document will outline a sequence of learning experiences (10 lesson ideas) for the development of this writing genre. The gradual release of responsibility model needs to be shown in the planning document. Text structure, language conventions and language features need to be identified and included in the document. Curriculum links and assessment strategies need to be outlined. Students will complete a rationale outlining the decisions made relevant to the development of this fpd (300words). The fpd will be assessed using the marking rubric. Identify the year level relevant to your practicum or of interest.
